Standard paddles

Standard (or widebody) paddles are about 16 in long and 7.8 to 8 in wide. The wider face is more forgiving on off-center hits and quicker to turn in hand battles at the kitchen. The usual starting point for newer players, and many doubles specialists never leave it.
